Why we love story
Story Studios Australia is a sanctuary for imagination and exploration. Our mentor-led programs, both in person and online, provide fun, unique and high-quality experiences for young and emerging writers to expand their Confidence, Creativity and Community. Beyond the myriad of publishing opportunities available to young writers in our weekly creative story writing groups and mentorships, our programs aim to foster curiosity, imagination and a lasting love of story.
Confidence
We want young writers to feel confident and comfortable in their ideas and in the space we create to share these. No idea is a bad idea in our sessions. We encourage playfulness and curiosity and provide space and opportunity for young writers to share ideas and receive constructive feedback. Our mentors aim to help each young writer develop their own voice and give them the guidance and tools they need to express their imaginations and ideas.
Creativity
At the core of our creative practice and vision is a love of story and a desire to explore. We curate inspiring environments ideal for imagination and learning, bringing experience from a wide range of writing mediums to our sessions. Our team of mentors is made up of screenwriters, authors, playwrights, journalists, poets, songwriters and more. They are dedicated to inspiring and guiding the next generation of storytellers on their writing journeys and supporting the unique creativity of each young writer.
Through the practice of writing stories, young writers are elevating their creativity, critical thinking skills, writing technique and confidence, and cultivating a passion that will last a lifetime and is applicable to any dream and pursuit.

Community
Fostering connection and community is one of our highest aims at Story Studios. We create environments where ideas can be shared, collaboration is ubiquitous, and passions are ignited. Our small young writer to mentor ratio enables us to provide a mentor-led approach where individual feedback and brainstorming can occur regularly, and each young writer can receive the attention they deserve. We ensure that young writers are given the time in each session to socialise, without compromising on quality or outcome, since creativity and connection is central to the craft of story.
