Story Studios Australia offers a wide range of creative writing courses for kids, teens, and schools in Melbourne and online, accessible to everyone across Australia and beyond.

Our fun and immersive programs are designed to inspire the next generation of storytellers, equipping them with the skills and confidence to express their ideas and imagination through the craft of storytelling.

Led by practicing writers—including screenwriters, novelists, journalists and more—our beautiful spaces, both online and in person, provide a sanctuary for imagination and expression and are the perfect opportunity for young writers to also develop critical thinking and public speaking skills.

Our popular school holiday programs inspire kids and teens with unique, creative fun, while our weekly sessions offer tailored guidance, deep exploration and publication opportunities. Each program is infused with play and wonder, giving young writers the chance to reflect, learn, and share.

In our creative writing courses for kids, young writers are lucky enough to be mentored by a magnificent team of professionals, from screenwriters and playwrights, to novelists, poets, journalists, essayists and more.

Our Story Mentors are not only practising their craft in the industry – with invaluable insights and practical wisdom to impart – but they also happen to be phenomenal humans who are passionate about inspiring a love of story and writing in the next generation of young creatives.

We often hear mentors say that Story Studios is the kind of thing they would have LOVED to be a part of as a kid. That’s because our Story Writing Groups are a place where kids can learn from real-life writers. They receive feedback and get to bounce ideas around with mentors who are genuinely excited about their imagination. Story Studios Writing Mentors have the skills and dedication to be able to guide young writers into turning their thoughts into stories in fun and innovative ways.

Young writers get to have a creative, intelligent and grounded (if we do say so ourselves) person in their life they can emulate – a mentor who supports their curiosity, their quirkiness and their self-confidence. That relationship is so important to us, and to our community.
