Little Storytellers

Give your child the best start to a lifelong love of stories and learning with our Little Storytellers Groups.

Curated by parents, teachers and professional writers, Little Storytellers immerses 4–6 year olds in a language-rich, story-filled environment that complements early literacy learning. Through fun, playful and multimodal activities, children explore characters, worlds, ideas and other story-craft fundamentals they can connect to and feel inspired by, building confidence as they begin creating stories of their own.

Our mentors model and share a variety of reading and writing experiences to foster creativity, vocabulary growth and a love of language. Small group sizes mean each little storyteller is supported at their own pace, with sessions tailored to their needs and interests.

Little Storytellers is not intended to replace explicit reading instruction, but to enrich and complement your child’s literacy journey.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Story Studios hopes to ignite a passion for literacy and learning through creativity, mentorship and practice. Little Storytellers exposes kinder and prep-aged children to the wonders of the written word through the building blocks of story, complementing their early literacy journey in meaningful and lasting ways.

Literacy is fundamental to critical-thinking skills, being able to articulate and communicate important ideas, and many other key life skills. The flow on effect from a decline in literacy, which is being seen across Australia, is a decline in individuality, voice and reason.

We believe that stories have the power to make the world a better place – they are our greatest tool; able to connect us, inform us and make us think, reflect and feel. We want to help set our littlest storytellers up with the best possible start to their literacy journey, and that means instilling a love for reading, writing and creativity and giving them the chance to let their imaginations soar and their curiosity find purchase in the world.

“I’ve tried to get her into extra curricular activities but she dislikes sports and now I finally found the thing she loves but I’m not making it obvious, playing it casual so she cant see how excited I am hehe”
